Fanny Pack/ Belted Bag
Who would have ever thought that the "fanny pack" would rear it's ugly head again? BTW do you know what a fanny is in England? Let's just say it begins with a VA and ends with a GINA. That actually makes a lot more sense considering where it traditionally sat on the body in the 90's. Anyway, it has been rebranded with a new look and a new name known as the "Belted Bag" and it is coming in strong for the upcoming season. This belt is not only a showstopper but utter convenience. Hands are free and you only carry the absolute necessities.
Corset Belt
It all started with those Kardashians again. Plugging away the benefits of the waist trainer. While the trainer is not actually to kind to your ribcage, it turns out, they were really on to something. This time around, we are wearing them on the outside of our clothing and the bigger the better. The waistline has always been a sign of femininity throughout history and this will provide a sharp contrast to the oversized masculine cuts we have been experiencing. While not for the faint of heart, this fall belt trend is doable for the average women. The trick is to wear the same color belt as the clothing underneath for an understated statement.
The Long Knotted Belt
While the long knotted belt is not new for Fall belt trends, where we are placing the belt is. Everything is about accentuating the waistline so start practicing those knots. The longer the belt the better. Heck, you can even double them up. Belt your shirts, your coats, your dresses, whatever floats your boat. Just make sure you've got some length to tie that knot.
Gold/Metallic Belts
Gold shows no signs of stopping as being one of the metals du jour. And this is present in the belt category as well. Large, small, chain-link, and over the top textures and add-on charms are all acceptable forms for the gold belt. Often relegated to the evening wear set, don't be afraid to introduce your gold belts to daywear as well.
