Question: I have very short hair and have searched in vain to find a hat to keep my head warm cuz my head gets super cold y'all. What are good hats for short hair?-Colette

The Slouchy Hat
This hat is a challenge for anyone. First, it requires you to wear it very far back on your head in order to get the right kind of slouch. However, if the slouch is too big, you can easily veer into shower cap territory. If you insist on a slouchy hat, look for ones that are on the narrower side in lighter knits. This way, you won't be overpowered by the size of the hat. But keep in mind that due to the fact that you have to balance them on the back of the head, you may need to use bobby pins to attach it.
The Beanie
A personal favorite of mine is the beanie. This hat does what it is supposed to do which is keep your head warm. You wear it securely on your head over the tips of your ears. Just pull some of your hair down in front so that it is peeking out through the hat.
The Beret
A beret is a great option for short hair. In fact, I think it was made for short hair and you really can't go wrong unless you have dressed as a mime. Translation, avoid striped shirts when wearing a beret.
The Fedora
Another hat that generally works for everyone is the fedora. The trick is finding the right size brim. For very short hair, I would recommend buying one that has a brim in the 2-inch range. If the fedora feels too masculine for you, a cloche can be a nice compromise.
The Newsboy Cap
If the thought of wearing yet another baseball hat sends you into fits, an alternative could be the newsboy cap. It maintains a casual air yet doesn't cover up too much of your hair. You also still have the benefit of the brim to protect your eyes from the sun.
The Head Wrap
Finally, if all else fails, my recommendation is to try a head wrap. You can find knitted ones that will help keep your ears warm, or you can wrap your own with a long scarf. The more hair you have on top of your head, the wider the band can be. If your hair is on the shorter side stick with a narrower band.
